Backstory to the 牛逼死了 embroidery:
Niubi si le stands for knowing exactly what you’re capable of. It’s a lifestyle, a complete lack of concern over what other people think of you and the resulting freedom to do whatever you please.
It is believed that the word Niubi became an adjective in the late 19th century by an imperial accident. Literally translated it means cow pussy (pardon our french) but is used as “awesome, badass, fucking cool“.
Whereas Niu refers to the animal, Bi itself is such a taboo word that most people don't dare to write it – thus unspeakable B.
Sǐ le intensifies it further, translated as “to the point of death”.
